Can a special education 504 student take AVHS classes?

Students with 504 plans may not do well in virtual classes. We cannot modify our content, assignments, quizzes or tests. The only modifications that work in this environment would be “more time” on any given assignment, quiz or test. Any other modifications would need to be done on the school site by the school personnel. Modifications that reduce the amount of work a 504 student submits wouldn’t work in this environment because our courses are set up on a point basis and all assignments, quizzes, tests, etc have a point value. This cannot be adjusted for individual students. AVHS does provide free use of our course databases to be used with the school’s certified teachers for credit recovery. Please contact us for details.
