This is a multi-tier configuration.In bridging-mode, the KIV-21 will seamlessly support RIP/RIPv2 communicationbetween remote red routers (those connected to the KIV-21 via the ethernet I/F). Inrouting-mode, typical routing requirements apply. Since the KIV-21 does not run adynamic routing protocol, static routes will need to be entered into the red routers.108Simplest scenario is to default all IP datagrams to the KIV-21. This will alleviate therequirement to add a static route for all remote red networks.
