ection 9 (g) of the Law states: “A service retiree of a retirement system may not rejoin or receive credit in the system for any postretirement service performed for the fire department included within the coverage of the system.” Therefore, a retiree can rejoin the fire department, but he/she CANNOT rejoin the pension system and/or receive any special benefits for rejoining the fire department.
