Can a representative of the media visit Cerners Command Center during the Y2K event?
If you receive a request from the news media to send a reporter or camera to Cerner, do not offer an answer immediately. Use the statement below to reply after you check with Kent Wessely and/or the Executive on Call to see if they believe Cerners Y2K event is running smoothly enough to permit a media visit. Cerners priority during this weekend is to assure that our clients receive our undivided attention. NO VISIT alternative: While we normally welcome on-site visits from the media, and would be glad to host you at another time, we believe a visit to Cerners Command Center at this time would distract our associates from their responsibilities to our clients. OK TO VISIT alternative: We would be happy to schedule about 15 minutes for you to visit our Command Center to see how Cerner and its associates are handling the Y2K event. However, to avoid distractions, we cannot schedule any time for you to visit with the associates who are on-duty. If a visit is arranged, work with the Command
