No. READY SEAL coatings are penetrating finishes and need to be absorbed into the wood to be effective. If another coating is on the wood, the READY SEAL product will only sit on the top surface. This can cause such problems as coating residue tracking onto carpets or rubbing off onto clothing. Previous coatings must be removed with appropriate strippers or cleaners before a new coating of READY SEAL product is applied.
