Can a Quick-Step flooring scratch?

The surface of a laminate floor is a melamine layer. Melamine is scratch RESISTANT, but not scratchproof. Sharp objects can scratch the floor. For this reason, like it is the case for all types of floorcoverings, some precaution measures need to be taken. Sharp objects can be dirt and/or pebbles. These must be caught at the outside doors, by installation of a suitable mat. Furniture that is often moved, such as chairs, must get a suitable protection under the legs. Generally this is felt or a soft plastic cup. If this protection is worn, it must be replaced. Under furniture that is equipped with castors such as office chairs or sofas and seats, SOFT wheels must be used. Hard, damaged wheels can strongly scratch. Take also care that the wheels can turn around freely. If you use a vacuum cleaner, please check if the wheels and the sucking opening are not damaged or too hard.
