Can a PT test be administered while deployed?
An APFT is administered every year no matter where you are. As already mentioned, daily organized PT is not a requirement for the test. When deployed, getting the entire company to take PT at once may be impossible, impracticable or even tactically unwise. The National Guard doesn’t do daily organized PT, we only meet one weekend a month, but we have an APFT every year, and can be required to take a diagnostic test whenever command feels it’s needed. It is the Soldier’s responsibility to maintain his physical condition. Your command can require organized PT, but in the end it is on you to stay in shape.
