yes, some scanners can recieve signals of some bugs, the bugs that transmit on some of the music radio frequencies… there are some small, inexpensive listening devices, the size of a dime, with a single wire short antenna on them, that can transmit on the lower channels of an FM stereo, down on the FM dial around 88 Mhz. These are FM wireless “BUG” mic transmitters, that are not very powerful, some only transmit to about 20 to 40 feet away, that transmit to FM stereo radios in the 88 to 89 or 90 Mhz range. Most are designed to be wireless mic transmitters for FM close proximity, and the scanners that receice those radio FM signals (the FM music radio band) can pick up on the bugs, with-in extremely close range. You would have to be with-in around 20 to 40 feet of the bug to pick up its transmitted signal and conversations.
