Can a person take both AP Calculus AB and BC exams in the same year?
Many years ago when I took the BC exam we took it at the same time and room as a AB people. But the BC exam syllabus includes all the AB topics. So if you take the BC exam you’ll be doing some common sections with the AB people. As I recall the BC takers stayed like an hour longer than the AB people to do an extra free response section and, possibly,an extra multiple guess section (I could be mistaken I good the AP Physics exam the same year and took both parts so I may be confusing them). But it doesn’t matter if you even take the AB exam. My department gives credit for Calc I and II for students who pass the BC exam. If a student had a BC score (with an AB sub-score) we wouldn’t even look at the AB test results. Here’s how the BC exam works. There is overlap in the questions asked on the AB and BC exams. After the tests have been scored, the AB questions are grouped and a score is assigned to you on your AB questions (this is reported as the AB sub-score). Then a BC score is assigned
