Can a Pakistani Muslim man marry a non-muslim woman?
Muslim men are allowed to marry non Muslim women. I am told that Muslim women marrying non Muslim men is frowned upon but does happen. The biggest problem you have is the arranged marriage. This is going to be difficult for him to get out of. It can cause a lot of shame in a family so his parents may not be too happy about that. If she were to marry him generally the children are brought up Muslim. I have a child with my husband and we have had a lot of discussion about this and finally compromised that we will allow her to choose her own religion when she grows up but in the meantime I won’t feed her any pork in case she decides to be Muslim one day. In the meantime she celebrates both Christian and Muslim holidays but we live in Canada which is more multi cultural than if she were to move to Pakistan. This sort of arrangement may not be acceptable there. I guess if their love is strong and they are fated to be together it’s possible but it is not an easy road.
