Can a pair of tights cure cellulite?
When it comes to style, French women have a reputation for being sophisticated and chic. With their immaculate dress sense, they have always had the edge over their British counterparts. Now it appears they have come up with the ideal fashion accessory – tights that massage away unsightly cellulite. The French firm behind the invention, Textiles Well, claims its sheer black denier will cure the ‘orange-peel’-type dimples found on hips and thighs. Called Action Minceur – Slimming Action in English – the tights slowly release a micro-encapsulated substance derived from algae. ‘The tights massage and stimulate the skin and the algae extract helps to fatten the skin and diminish the cellulite,’ company spokesman Muriele Roos said yesterday. The treatment is likened to mesotherapy, a process which involves the injection of plant extracts in order to stimulate circulation and to boost the digestion of tissue near fat cells.
