Can a nuclear holocaust cause the end of the world?
There would probably be survivors in the event of a nuclear holocaust; however, it is whether or not humans can continue to breed which is in question. If there are only 1,000 humans left, it would be like inbreeding, we wouldn’t survive; so, it depends. Our moon was almost certainly formed when the Earth collided with an object the size of mars. The moon is most likely made up of the void in the Pacific Ocean. If an object were large enough, yeah, that could be the end of earth. There are a few other ways in which the Earth itself could be obliterated. Of course, the Sun will one day become a monster and boil our oceans away; and eventually burn Earth.
