Can a non-paternal father be forced to pay child support in Canada?
I don’t know how the law works in Canada but I’m sure it is quite similar to the law in the US….If a father claims paternity of a child that is not his or one that is *assumed* to be a product of a marriage, he can be forced to pay child support until he is adjudicated to NOT be the father. You have no reason to be concerned about dating a woman who already has a child if it isn’t yours. It doesn’t work that way in the US and I’m sure it doesn’t work that way in Canada either….Dating a woman with a child does not equate to automatically being ordered to pay child support for that child….
