Can a non-member attend a GANYC meeting?

A. Yes, before joining, we’d like you to attend a meeting. Simply consult the calendar on our website and come join us. At some meetings we have lively discussions about things effecting our members or tourism in the city; at other times we’ll have authors or other speakers talk to us about their areas of expertise. It’s always wise to check the calendar the day of the meeting, because sometimes, due to things beyond our control, the time, date or even meeting place can change. But remember, virtually all of the tours and events listed on the calendar are ‘Members Only’ and by reservation.

A. Yes, in fact, that is the best way to know about our organization before joining. (Be sure to bring your NYC guides license, as you must be a licensed guide to attend.) At some meetings we have lively discussions about things effecting our members or tourism in the city; at others we have authors or speakers talk to us about their areas of expertise. Once again, check the calendar a few days before the day of the meeting, because sometimes, due to things beyond our control, the time, date or even meeting place can change. But remember, except for our monthly meetings, virtually all of the tours and events listed on the calendar are Members Only and by reservation.
