Can a non-Japanese person practice Shinto?

0

Yes. Even though Shinto arose as a practice among the people of ancient Japan and has been historically associated with the Japanese culture and people, it is entirely possible for non-Japanese to practice Shinto. As with all things that come from outside the cultural framework that is familiar to us, however, it is important to understand that in order to practice Shinto sincerely we must come to understand and embrace certain concepts which may have little or no parallel in our native cultures. This can be done if a person is sincere in his or her intentions and dedicated enough to do the work necessary to achieve such a goal.
