Can a non-business major register for business courses at the University of Maryland, College Park?

Most sections of lower level (100 & 200 level) business (BMGT) courses are open to all students. The following lower level courses are restricted to specific student populations as noted in the Schedule of Classes: BMGT190H, BMGT202, and selected sections of BMGT110, BMGT220, BMGT221, BMGT230 and BMGT231. In the fall and spring semesters, most upper level BMGT courses will be restricted initially to BMGT students. Non-BMGT majors have the opportunity to initially go on the holdfile for many upper level BMGT courses. On the first or second day of classes, restrictions on the holdfile courses are lifted. If there are seats available at that time, the students on the holdfile fill in the open seats. If there is a waitlist, the holdfile students join the back of the waitlist. During the Summer and Winter sessions, most BMGT courses are not restricted and are open to all students.
