Can a Night Vision device and/or Infrared Illuminator be harmful?

0

Night vision technology is absolutely harmless, it doesn’t emit radiation nor will it blind you if a bright light hits it while in use. Most likely it will damage the device. Night vision is no more dangerous or harmful than watching TV. Diode (LED) based IR Illuminators are also harmless.

No night vision cameras or devices do not produce any harmful radiation. They do not affect adversely on human skin. The devices produce IR light which is invisible to the eyes. They are very good for night surveillance. I am having AXTON IR illuminator for night surveillance. These are best devices for night security.

I agree with the previous commenters – night vision technology is absolutely harmless, whether it is digital or traditional. I have such a device at home, special night vision sights for hunting ( http://www.atncorp.com/nightvision-weapon-sights  ), so that I know it practically about it’s safety.

If you have a laser based IR use it with caution. Laser based IRs seldom appear on the consumer market.
