I don’t know what would explode… CRTs would IMPLODE since the tube is holding a vacuum. It would still be dangerous, and throw glass around. There’s really nothing in a non-CRT TV that would implode or explode. Nothing is under pressure or a vacuum, nor are there any volatile gases or liquids inside.
