Can a minor obtain a work permit if he/she is under the age of 14?
In general, no. Most occupations in Indiana require that a minor be at least 14 years of age. There are, however, a few exceptions. If a minor is working as a farm laborer, domestic worker, golf caddie, newspaper carrier, performer/actor, or if the minor is legally emancipated, he/she may be permitted to work under the age of 14.
