Any contract signed by an unemancipated minor (unless there was a cosigner of legal age) is not valid. An emancipated minor can sign a legally binding contract and would not be able to walk away and/or get their money back. In FL, a minor can be the owner of a vehicle but any purchase and/or finance contract must be signed by someone of legal age or someone that was awarded the rights and responsibilities of an adult by a court through an emancipation proceeding. If the person is truely a minor by law (not just age) and there was no adult that signed the contract, the contract is automatically null and void. If the dealer discovered the mistake, they could demand return of the car and would have to refund all monies paid. If the minor, for any reason whatsoever, decided they didn’t like the deal they can go to the dealer, return the car, and demand a refund of all monies.
