Answer – No, a ballast will contain packing material that is typically ignitable or may contain PCB’s. The proper disposal route for all (non leaking) ballast is recycling. To establish a recycling area in the Cambridge / Allston Campus, contact Rob Gogan 495-3042 for assistance . To establish a recycling area in the Harvard Medical School Longwood, contact Facility Maintenance Manager Bob Christiano 432-0701 for assistance.
