Can a Jehovahs Witness be ex-communicated for hiring a Life Coach?

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in good standing for 38 years, and as a life coach ~ graduate of CoachU ~ my answer is a definete YES.  Life Coaching is used to help people improve their lives, set goals and be the person they want to be.  As Jehovah’s Witnesses that is very important to us.

So if we choose to use a Life Coach to help us, that is great.  The important thing is that we stay within Bible laws and principles as we move forward in our lives.

I don’t see why; if I understand correctly a “life coach” is just a professional that gives mental, emotional, physical and/or secular councel and advise on various issues effecting familes or individuals**. I don’t believe they are religious or spiritual leaders so I don’t necessarily see any conflict biblically as long as the council didn’t violate christian principles. I personally would probably save my money and consult the wealth of information available on lifestyle issues in our publications but that is an entirely personal decision. http://www.watchtower.org/e/archives/ind… **We used to call this “going to grandma for some adivice” …

A correction: The literature supplied by the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society tells us that Jehovah’s way is the only way. The Watchtower is nothing more than a Bible-based piece of literature that helps us see God’s name has been smeared and that it needs to be cleared, that he cared enough to share his requirements and to help us stay focused as spiritual people. And reading the Watchtower and Awake is a far cry better than reading the conservative/liberal bias’ in most printed materials. Next, we don’t get ex-communicated. Never have, never will. Third, as long as their teachings and recommendations don’t contradict or violate Bible principles, we can hire a Life Coach. Hope this info helps… thanks for asking!
