Can a hiatus hernia cause coughing and a lump like feeling in the troat?

0

My aunt has had investigations for coughing until she vomits/ and pressure in the troat. After gastroscopy, barium enema and a camera down her nose they have diagnosed a floating hiatus hernia and acid reflux. How can this cause a lump in her throat and coughing when the acid reflux is at the bottom end of the osephagus.
