Can a Hazmat background check be transferred from another state to New Mexico?
Yes. If it can be determined that the out- of- state CDL with the Hazmat endorsement was issued within the last year, then it can be transferred. If the license was issued more than a year ago, the driver is required to retest completely. A Hazmat background check cannot be transferred from another state to New Mexico because New Mexico cannot verify when the out- of- state background and fingerprinting was performed.
