Can a guy become a floral designer or florist? Is it a taboo?

Of course you can! I am a floral designer and work with straight men who are very talented. My boyfriend likes to come into the shop I work at sometimes and make an arrangement or two, says it is relaxing to him. Of course he does not have to answer the phone, wait on customers, wash buckets etc….Most people think all you do all day is create arrangements, but really that is about 30% of my job. I am usually cleaning flowers after they come on our flower truck, answering the phone and taking orders, waiting on customers, making sure the delivery people know where they are going and are on time for timed deliveries, washing buckets and vases etc… cleaning my work area so I can make the next arrangement etc….. To myself, it is not relaxing anymore and I am tired of making $25 arrangements, it’s hard to be creative at that price! You are always trying to upsell because people really think they should have a $50 for their $25. It is a stressful job, you might be working on a delivery
