YES! It is possible to become certified to adopt a child or children in the state of Arizona. However, Arizona does not recognize second parent adoptions. This simply means that one person is named the legal parent to the child. After the adoption is finalized, the couple has the option of naming the other person a “guardian” to the child through the use of a private attorney.
