Can a foreign student get a part time job in the Philippines?
A non citizen of the Philippines requires a work permit through the appropriate Philippines government office. I am not sure which office. Perhaps the Bureau of Labor http://www.bles.dole.gov.ph/ will point you in the right direction. Keep in mind the minmum wage in the Philippines varies depending upon location. In Manila is is 250 Pesos, plus an additional 12 pesos if you meet certain requirements. Other types of employment pay lesser amounts. I highly doubt you will be authorized to work. There are millions of unemployed citizens. If you work, you are taking a job from one of its citizens. Even if you are authorized to work, think about the taxes the government will take out because you are not a citizen. For 8 to 12 hours work, you probably make about $7.00 to $9.00 or less a day.
