Can a fisheye lens be used on a Nikon FM2? What kind?

So long as a lens is a Nikon AI or AF type, it can be mounted on an FM2 and will work with the light meter. An older lens with a Non-AI mount can be modified to make it AI-compatible (see http://www.aiconversions.com/). Note that some older Nikon-brand fisheye lenses must be used on a body with mirror lock-up (MLU), which the FM2 does not provide. Newer lenses, such as the G and AF-S types cannot be used on an FM2. G lenses will mount, but have no mechanical diaphragm and have to be used wide open. AF-S lenses also lack a mechanical diaphragm and are incompatible with pre-AF bodies. There are a number of compatible fisheye lenses on the market, from Nikon and other manufacturers. Most of these are out of production and only available second-hand, since fisheyes are not terribly popular these days (fads come and go). If you are only experimenting at this stage, however, you probably don’t want to spend a lot of money on a new or used Nikon fisheye lens. A Nikon 16mm AF fisheye lens cost
