I had a female betta and i had three guppys in the water and this was a small 2 gallon tank my betta did not really mind but my betta is very relaxed so if your betta is really hyper than i suggest that you dont and some other fish you might want to consider are neon tetras the live forever and the bettas dont care about the tetras and that because the tetras are schooling fish and the swim really fast and any other kind of tetras to but make sure the betta has a good hiding place to go.
