Can a farrier improve my horses conformation?

0

Your farrier, if properly qualified (and experienced) can help your pony to weightbear more correctly. However, his conformation is set in stone and cannot be altered. The problem could well stem from the stifle or hock, rather than the toe itself. To make any noticable difference he will likely have to be shod. Find a highly recommended farrier in your area and see what they can do. There’s nothing to stop you showing, though you’re right in that he will be marked down. However at local level shows no pony will be perfect and if nothing else, it will give your pony experience of crowds etc. which will be useful for future competitions (jumping/dressage etc. when he is older).
