Can a facility have more than one satellite accumulation area (SAA)?

Yes, a facility may have more than one SAA. There are no limits on the number of SAAs allowed at a generator’s facility and no limit on the total amount of hazardous waste that may be accumulated at various SAAs across a facility. However, within each SAA there are limits. When the total volume of hazardous waste exceeds 55 gallons, or 1 quart of acute hazardous waste, in any SAA, the container must be marked with the date the excess accumulation was reached and be moved to a central hazardous waste storage area within three days of that date.
