Each state has its own policy. Many states require that a device have an NTEP Certificate of Conformance prior to installation in a commercial application. Sometimes a state may permit a device to be installed for the purposes of conducting a type evaluation or if a completed type evaluation does exist from another location, pending the publication of the Certificate of Conformance. Please contact the state or local jurisdiction for specific policies regarding devices installed in commercial applications prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Conformance.
