Can a Department Buyer purchase items on an index that belongs to another department?
Yes. However, a Department Buyer’s purchasing authority applies only to indexes within the authorizing department. So, when a Department Buyer selects an index from another department, the requisition routes to the Approver of the index they selected. The department owning the index must approve the request before it becomes a PO.
