Can a Condominium Corporation collect, use and disclose personal information for purposes arising in the rental of units?
Yes. The Condominium Property Act authorizes the Corporation to obtain the address of the owner, name of the tenant and amount of rent to be paid, to serve documents and conduct business with the owner (section 53). PIPA permits the collection, use and disclosure of personal information to comply with another Act (section 14(b), 17(b) and 20(b)).
