Can a company use handwriting analysis in an investigation hearing?
In short, yes they can do as much or as little as they like, they are not conducting a criminal investigation simply trying to put together a reasonable case against your partner. Admissibility or lack of regarding any part of the investigation, like handwriting analysis, is immaterial. Whether this is being done out of genuine concern or as a pretext for dismissing your partner is also immaterial at this stage. The ball, as they say, is firmly in their court. If your partner was a union member he could expect considerable support, support that would force the employer to demonstrate a very strong case before dismissing him, but without an advocate, unless he is himself highly capable in industrial relations, he can do nothing at this stage. If he is dismissed then he will have recourse to an Industrial Tribunal with a claim of unfair dismissal potentially on the grounds of the employers actions being based on a desire to get rid of him rather than any recognised failure or unacceptabl
