Can a club advisor purchase a computer using club funds and later use the computer in his classroom?

Question: I have a club advisor that is requesting to use club funds for the purchase of a new computer. I suspect this teacher is attempting to use student funds to purchase classroom supplies. I have asked for meeting minutes verifying the student approval for the expenditure and he has provided me with that documentation. The minutes are signed by each of the club officers (5 seniors). I don’t feel comfortable about this, but I dont want to deny this purchase request based on my “feelings”. Can you give me some concrete information that I can ask him to provide? He states that the purpose for the purchase is to store historical photos and to store club data. I think it is going to be used as a computer for all of his students to use. Response: Allowable expenditures from ASB funds need to be directly linked to the students benefit and also must be outside of what must be and has been provided by the school districts general funding sources in the past. There is no “list” of what is
