Can a circumcised man sue his parents for child abuse?
I’ve heard of men suing the doctor who performed the circumcision. A few have won. Fortunately, the circumcision rates are declining. Well, most of the world doesn’t do it in the first place — the USA is one of the only countries that does. But even in the USA less than 40% of baby boys are circumcised these days. More and more people are realizing that there’s really no valid reason for it, and that the medical benefits are minuscule, if not non-existent (and they’re outweighed by the medical risks). Plus, the foreskin has important sexual and protective functions and who are we to excise a healthy, functioning body part from someone who can’t consent? His body, his choice.
