Can a chronic liar tell the truth?
A chronic liar tells lies all the time without acknowledging that they are lying. They often live in a reality that is demonstrably removed from the physical world we all share. Given that they have constructed such a different world in which they live, it’s hard for them to stop the habitual lying. The truth is like a bowl of fish hooks: you pull one out and all the rest start coming out. The more falsehoods, the bigger the change in knowing oneself it will be to unravel them all. You can quite easily test some of the assertions that chronic liars make in ways that are non-aggressive and based on facts. This often causes them much difficulty as it’s hard to dismiss your arguments. The usual response in this situation is for the chronic liar to mumble, feign ignorance, wander off and think about something else, or formulate more lies to excuse the difference between what you have pointed out and what they believe.
