It is definately possible. We have a child with Autism and language disability. With what your have described, I had Tourette’s Syndrome come to mind as well. People we know have a severely effected downs Syndrome daughter with Autism. It is possible for our special needs children to have more than one syndrome or disability at the same time. It would be better to get a professional diagnosis from a specialist. You may be able to contact your national or state Downs Syndrome or ADHD organisation. If you don’t know where to start, your G.P. or Hospital can point you in the right direction. Also keep your eyes and ears open for your local support group. It is such a wonderful support for you to meet with other parents and carers and get support and ideas to keep you going. Don’t forget, these ’disabled’ people can also have the gifting of extreme intelligence or the ability to pick up music quickly or without lessons.
