Can a child receive a rating of 7 in all outcome areas and still have an IEP?
A. It is possible that a child could receive a rating of 6 or 7 in each of the three outcome areas and still have an IEP. For instance, if assistive technology or special accommodations are available in the child’s every day environments then the rating should describe the child’s functioning using those adaptations. The outcomes summary was not designed to determine eligibility for services.
