Can a chest x-ray diagnose asthma?
Asthma cannot be detected by taking a chest x-ray. You have to take a Peak Flow Meter (breathe-o meter) Test or a Spirometry Test to find out if you have asthma. Most doctors however, prescribe a chest x-ray to rule out other problems in your chest, for example, foreign bodies in the lungs or other infections, which could affect breathing.
