Can a Car Sale Contract be Broken After Signed?
A car sale contract is the document you sign when you purchase a car from a dealership. Breaking a car sales contract is usually not allowed. However, some states allow a three to five day period, called a cooling down period, in which you can return the car to the dealership and break the contract. However, in many states, this isn’t a possibility. You’ll need to check with your local motor vehicles department to determine your state’s laws regarding cooling down periods. A car sales contract can also be broken if the contract for sale was contingent upon you obtaining financing and you are unable to do so. Sales contracts can also be broken when the dealership makes mistakes on the contract.
