Can a car frame be bent so bad,?
I have a frame machine and buy wrecks to fix and sell. It’s probably best to let them total the car. They will try to write you a check for less than replacement value. You will have to refuse several times and threaten to get a lawyer before they will finally give you enough money to replace with the same year/condition/options. Stick to your guns and don’t let them intimidate you. When they refuse to settle quickly, tell them you want them to pay for a rental car until they pay off. That will usually get them to give you enough money for replacement of equal value. They will bring up anything that will try to make you believe that your car was worth less than replacement value. Don’t listen to them. Don’t sign the check until you are happy with the amount. Even if the car is worth fixing, when you get ready to sell it, the CarFax will show it has been wrecked and it will make the car hard to sell and/or you will get less for it.
