Can a breast reduction cause breast cancer?
There is no increased risk of developing breast cancer from having breast reduction surgery. Postoperative breast X-rays or mammography can still be performed. The breast reduction operation does not increase the risk of breast malignancy nor does it interfere with the proper examination and detection of tumors should they occur at any time in the future.
