Can a box teach more than educational toys?
25/04/2006 Some experts on children’s play say that parents should be wary of spending money for so called educational toys because they may not help any more than household items with which kids perhaps enjoy more. An analysis of new products by the Good Toy Guide part of the National Association of Toys and Leisure Library which is trusted by parents and respected by toy manufacturers says it is resisting pressure from toy manufacturere to include an educational toy section. ‘An educational tag on a toy means very little and parents shouldn’t be spending money buying these products,’ said Carole Burton, an appraisal manager for the National Association of Toy and Leisure Libraries and editor of the Toys Guide.
