Let’s answer these one at a time: The Black Widow Spider – the black widow is very shy and prefers to hide near her web by day and becomes active by night. The best way to avoid a black widow bite is to always wear gloves when doing work in garages and sheds; never stick your hand into any opening without using them. The bite may feel like a pin prick and may go unnoticed. A red circular mark may appear about 6 hours after the bite. As with any bite, call the Banner Poison Control Center 1-800-222-1222 to determine whether the victim can be managed at home or will need to seek treatment.
