Can a Ban on Foreign Cartoons Boost the Local Animation Industry?
This article presents a table discussion on the issue of whether or not banning foreign cartoons will boost the domestic TV or film animation industry in China. Most TV cartoon programs in China are made overseas. They popular among children and parents. And the new regulation issued by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the country’s TV regulatory agency, is making children and parents irritated. They can watch only domestically produced cartoons between 5-8 p.m. daily starting September 1, 2006.
