Can a bail bondsman revoke bail just for money owed?
In general, the contract between the bail bondsman and the person posting the bail will probably contain a provision for this circumstance. Check out the particular language of the agreement to determine the options that the bailbondsman has. Obviously, even without a specific clause in the agreement the bondsman can try to get the posted bail revoked, and once this process begins it would bring the Court and the prosecutor into the mix, since the application would be made in Court. Only you, in consultation with your lawyer, can decide if the actual/potential risk of this occurring is worth the non-payment of the bondsmans fees. Good luck.
