I suggest that you read “The Medea Hypothesis” by Peter D. Ward, a geologist and biologist at the University of Washington. He shows that the Gaia Hypothesis is not supported by the physical evidence. After all, with five major mass extinctions in geological history plus one that is happening right now, the idea of a self-regulating earth makes no sense.
