Can a .22 cal rifle kill a person from point blank range in the head?
Generally yes, the 22lr rimfire was also used to slaughter full grown cattle at point blank range. The shot was directed into their forehead. So a human skull no problems at all, even out to some range. The considerations are this though. Some 22’s are a lot weaker than others, including shorts and caps, and a 22 hollowpoint too can be totally hollow, just a thin shell, so you have to specify what type you mean Also at some extreme angles some bullets may skim or deflect off a skull and not penetrate. once again though generally, the regular vanilla 22. rimfire with a lead bullet and normal charge will certainly penetrate one side of a human skull, and I would not like to risk it even out to 50 yards+!
